Introduction & Specs
Molecular Weight 3000
Density: 1.0 g/ml, 25°C
Description Polyetheramine M-3085 Amine is a hydrophilic polyether monoamine of approximately 3000 molecular weight with a PO/EO mole ratio of about 8/58. Exhibits moderate viscosity and low vapor pressure and its amine end group more reactive than alcohol. Provides improved flexibility from polyether backbone, increased surface energy (hydrophilicity and polarity) from polyethyleneglycol backbone and surfactant properties to modify a variety of resin types. It is used in pressure sensitive adhesives. It is listed in TSCA, DSL, AICS, ECL and IECSC.
Applications:

Ø Modification of epoxy resins and other thermoset resins

Ø Preparation of epoxy resin adducts.

Ø Preparation of comb polymers with poly(acrylic acid) or similar linear polymers

Ø Formulating emulsifiers, pressure sensitive adhesives, and corrosion inhibitors

Advantage

• Polyether backbone improves elastic properties

• Water soluble.

• The polyethylene glycol backbone increases surface energy (hydrophilicity and polarity)

• Surfactant properties can modify a variety of resin types

• Amine ends are more reactive than alcohols
